Tara Barone is a fine art dealer, advisor, curator, art historian, and writer. Tara grew up in Buffalo, NY, and graduated from Alfred University with a degree in Art History and Theory. She spent the next 10 years in New York City working in Modern and Contemporary galleries, immersed in the many pillars of the art world and market. Formerly the Director at Jane Kahan Gallery in New York City, she has specialized in niche markets like Picasso ceramics, limited editioned prints, and traditional Aubusson tapestries, dealing in works by Modern Masters such as Calder, Miro, and Leger, among other household names. Tara has worked with prominent private collections in New York City, institutions such as Sotheby’s, and Christie’s, and has been instrumental in coordinating the execution of major exhibitions at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art, the Museum of European Modern Art in Barcelona, and art fairs in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Houston. Tara has over a decade of experience as a fine art specialist navigating the Primary and Secondary art markets, and has also played an integral role in facilitating major gallery operations at Elizabeth Dee Gallery in New York, and most recently in 2022, David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles. At the start of 2023, Barone joined in the expansion of MRG Fine Art as partner and COO, offering workshops and services to artists that are in high demand, helping emerging artists launch their creative careers, and place their work around the Greater Los Angeles area in addition to brokering and advisory services to collectors.
